Ueno Park, located in the Taito ward of Tokyo, Japan, is one of the country’s most famous, oldest public park and it’s FREE.
The park was established in 1873, making it one of Japan’s oldest public parks. The land originally belonged to the Kan’ei-ji Temple, which was a major temple during the Edo period. After the Meiji Restoration, the temple grounds were converted into a public park.
