Izu Granpal Park is an outdoor amusement park located in Ito City on the Izu Peninsula. Known for its wide-open spaces, interactive attractions, and seasonal nighttime illuminations, the park offers a full day of entertainment for families, couples, and groups of friends.
We visited the park as the final stop on our two-day road trip from Atami and found it to be a fun and memorable way to end the journey.

Izu Granpal Park: Day Time Attractions & Activities
During the day, Izu Granpal Park offers a variety of attractions suitable for both children and adults. One of the first activities we tried was the giant slide, a multi-lane slope where visitors can slide down using inflatable tubes. Though a bit nervous at first, we quickly found ourselves enjoying the ride and laughing like kids again.
Nearby, we discovered the Dino Age Cart, a dinosaur-themed go-kart attraction. For 600 yen, visitors can enjoy a short ride around a track lined with life-sized dinosaur models. Although the carts weren’t operating during our visit, the quiet track gave us a great chance to take photos and selfies with the dinosaurs up close.
Air Balloon
¥400 (adults), ¥200 (kids), for up to 4 people
Dino Age Kart
From ¥600 per car (approx. 3 minutes ride)
Zip Line – Long Zip Slide

- Battle King, Water Balloon, Park Golf, Motor Land Norinori, River Island, Pirate-themed 3D Maze “KAiZOKU”, and Lover’s Shrine are also available.
Each has its own fee and rules (height, age, etc.)
Free Play Area
There are 21 types of playground equipment for kids from 90cm tall up to junior high students. Free for all park guests.
Nighttime Illumination
As evening approached, we stayed to experience the park’s Gran Illumi, an annual light display that transforms Izu Granpal Park into a glowing wonderland. The atmosphere changes completely after dark, with colorful lights synchronized to lively background music. The entire area becomes highly photogenic, with countless opportunities for photos that are popular among couples and social media users.
It’s worth noting that while the illumination is a major attraction, rides and most daytime attractions are not available at night. The giant slide remains open and free to use, but visitors primarily come in the evening for the light displays. Also, most restaurants within the park close by 3 PM, so it’s best to plan accordingly if you’re arriving later in the day.
Admission and Tips
- Admission fees differ for day and night entry. Separate tickets are required for the illumination event.
- Most attractions operate during the day only, so visitors who want to enjoy both the rides and illumination may consider arriving in the afternoon.
